Getting there
This is not the easiest wedding to get to and we greatly appreciate your dedication to fly to another continent and drive to a random old house in a field. Below is a guide on how to best get to the venue. If you would like to come but are overwhelmed by the idea of getting there, please reach out to us so that we can help you plan!
To get to the venue you will need to:
Get to Europe.
Requirements:
Valid Passport (Must not expire within 90 days of departure date).
Plane ticket to Paris, France (CDG), Barcelona, Spain (BCN), or other city. Choice depends on willingness to drive in Europe.
International Drivers Permit (if renting a car). You can do this in one day by going to a AAA branch or you can mail in an application (https://www.aaa.com/vacation/idpf.html)
Take a train to a smaller city close to the venue (Optional but RECOMMENDED)
Here we recommend taking a train from Paris, France to Toulouse, France which is the closest major city to the venue. This train ride takes anywhere from 4 to 6 hours and will cost €100-200 for a round trip ticket. Train tickets can be purchased from RailEurope 2 months before departure date (https://www.raileurope.com/en-us/destinations/paris-toulouse-train)
Rent a car
This is necessary to get to the venue. The venue has ample parking! Depending on your willingness to drive, this can be done from Toulouse (50 min), Montpellier (2h30 min), or Barcelona (3h40 min). Of course, the more you are willing you are to drive, the more scenic your trip will be.
Tips:
There are at least 6 rental car providers at the Toulouse Matabiau Train Station (https://www.enterprise.com/en/car-rental-locations/fr/toulouse-matabiau-train-station-f5r2.html)
Rent early.
Rent an automatic car.
Look out for speed cameras. They are all over French highways and will get you at any speed over the limit. Google maps helps greatly at locating these. Once you get off the highway and onto the country roads there are no cameras of course :)
Book a Nearby Hotel/Gite
There are a few hotels nearby the venue but they are rather small. We recommend looking at AirBnB or searching for nearby Gîtes (French version of an AirBnB). We will do some of this work for you and put a list of recommended hotels/Gîtes on this site as the date approaches.
Show up to the venue on 31MAY2025
We are looking into coordinating a van to pick up/drop off people at nearby hotels so that everyone can have fun without having to worry about driving back. If you do drive to the venue, you may park in the designated area.
Traveling by Car
The easiest way to get to the venue would be to take a Train from Paris to Toulouse (nearest major city) and pick up a rental car there. From the Toulouse train station it is about a 50 minute drive (53km).
