Hôtel du Vieux Pont

Le Roi Gourmand

Logis Hôtel de France

***Disclaimer: We have not stayed at any of these hotels, they are based on recommendations from our vendors and a Google Maps search. A lot of these hotels may have difficult parking and no air conditioning. We apologize in advance but it will help you to get into the French mindset :). My personal recommendation would be to stay at La Ferme Ô Délices as this is where we are trying to host the welcome dinner and they have a really cool farm/bird watching area. All of these hotels are pretty remote so do not expect there to be a lot of stuff going on in/near them.***

Private Houses/Villas

There are not a lot of hotels near the venue so you may have to rent a private house during your stay. To do this you have 3 websites to check out:

1) https://www.gites-de-france.com/en

2) https://www.airbnb.com/

3) https://www.booking.com/

The best thing to do here would be to form a group with other friends/people you know that are going and rent a large house together. There are some sick Chateaus to rent and you can really ball out for the same price as a hotel if you have a large group. When using any of these sites, search the city “Cintegabelle” as this is near the venue.

What to Do??

Ok, John and Kristin have just made you spend days traveling to a remote hotel in the south of France with seemingly nothing to do nearby, now what?

Our top recommendation is to do what we like to do when we travel and just drive around with no plan. You never know what you might see. A great place to aimlessly drive would be the massive national park to the s west of the venue (Parc naturel régional des Pyrénées Ariégeoises, https://maps.app.goo.gl/Sb8Q8JFm3JHEab3z6). This is a massive national park with mountains, forests, hikes, scenic roads, a perfect place to spend a day. Buy some bread, meats and cheese and have a picnic on top of a French mountain.

Another suggestion would be to check out Toulouse (this is the nearest major city). Kristin and I have not really explored Toulouse but it seems like there are a good amount of gardens and museums to see.
